CASA VIVA - EUREKA

Coming from ZIP 5232 PARADISE - NORWAY , CASA VIVA is another PARADISE!

Having traveled to Mexico more than 30 times - we have found the ultimate place. Un-snobbish, beautiful, comfortable, private - with very friendly and personal service. We look forward to come back with family and friends from Norway and Mexico Many times.

Please reserve the same week-

One week before traveling to Mexico for our wedding, my fiancé and I had yet to decide on a place to spend our honeymoon. We were looking for a hotel or bungalow in Troncones, but none of the websites we visited captured our attention. Just as we were giving up and about to place a deposit on a bungalow, my wife-to-be came across Casa Viva's website and we immediately knew it was perfect. The pictures grabbed our attention and the description of the casitas and common area sealed the deal. We frantically emailed David and were ecstatic when he confirmed our reservation.

We were looking for a place to kick back, soak up the sun, read a good book, eat good food, and do little else. Casa Viva surpassed our expectations; in addition we met two other great couples who were staying there at the same time.

The staff are all wonderful individuals and everything is always spotless. Poli was there to greet us when we got out of the taxi from Zihuatanejo. He and his family proved the perfect hosts throughout our four days at Casa Viva. Yolanda's breakfasts were memorable - the sopes are to die for.

We will definitely be recommending Casa Viva to our friends and hope to be back soon.

Just wanted to tell you what a great time we had at Casa Viva. I can't imagine any other place being as perfect for us as yours...

I am a designer working in the fashion business, and visuals are very important to me...so needless to say I was thrilled...from all the amazing details in the buildings, to the setting, landscaping...I was happy.

And for our little Ruby...it was paradise. She, who was terrified of swimming, managed to spend long hours in your pool, and wandering around happily all by herself from house to house, and having her first horseback ride!

And the fact that the houses are separate was especially great for us with our older, married children.

And how about Poli and Augustina...how great are they!?

And on and on..

Visiting Casa Viva in the middle of a month-long motorcycle journey through Mexico was perfect. Its privacy and seclusion, yet communal feel, was a great place to relax and unwind.

The architecture, flora, attention to ecology, and warm staff, made Casa Viva a pleasure. Poli, Agostina, and their son Rigo, were kind, accommodating, and a pleasure to live with. Yolanda cooked up delicious sopes and pancakes for breakfast, while Adi made sure everything was nice and tidy.

The other guests were also great. One reason we chose Casa Viva was that it didn't look like it would attract over-zealous partiers or unsavory turistas. As was evident there, as well as on this page, the visitors to Casa Viva are intelligent and thoughtful. A great reflection on what David and Sandra have created.

Troncones is a great little town, with wonderful restaurants on the beach. The tortillaria (if you can find it) cranks out delicious, fresh tortillas daily. Manzanillo Bay, just up the road from Casa Viva, has some nice restaurants, and a great beach for swimming.

Overall, Casa Viva is a very special place that we will be visiting again. Hopefully soon.

We are back in rainy Seattle and just wanted to let you know what an amazing time we had at Casa Viva. Your place is so beautiful, it was even more wonderful than we imagined.

We just loved the whole space there, the casita, the pool, everything. The architecture was gorgeous and so unique. Yolanda is a great cook and we loved her meals. It was very relaxing and just lovely.

We had a memorable holiday at Casa Viva - you have created a truly beautiful haven. We loved it. Pete got a fair bit of surfing in. We finished our holiday with a completely different experience - Disneyland!!

Our time at Casa Viva was very restful, and the ladies there were very friendly. The kids loved the pool, and we were able to teach one to swim while there. The Internet connection worked great, and I was able to take care of a crisis or two while we stayed. You have a great place down there, and I thank you for sharing it with us.

We had an absolutely awesome time at Casa Viva. One of the best vacations we have ever been on. The staff was wonderful, attentive, and Francesca was a wonderful cook!!!! We barely left the pool and when we did it was to eat, go horseback riding, or jump in the ocean. Casa Viva is absolutely gorgeous....you feel like your in an episode of life styles of the rich and famous!!!

This was our first visit to Casa Viva Troncones. As we rattled down the dirt road after a long day of travel, trying to pick which gate in the wall might belong to Casa Viva Troncones, we reminded ourselves to relax and be open to the experience. Absolutely anything could be on the other side of that wall. Then ... magic!!!

It was completely surreal to step through that gate and into the secret garden of Casa Viva. Subdued lighting showed carefully rock-lined and raked pathways leading to a series of casitas. We picked our individual casitas, and then began a week of rejuvenation and peace. We could never imagine a more hospitable staff, a more architecturally interesting set of buildings, or a more stunning landscape for the perfect escape.

Thank you for your generosity in opening up your little slice of paradise so that many of us might enjoy it along with you.

We loved your beautiful home!!!! It was one of the best vacations we have ever had in one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. It is so tranquil there that I know everyone felt completely relaxed and serene. The Senoras are wonderful cooks and Pauli just couldn't have been more accommodating. My husband and I especially enjoyed staying on the sleeping porch. We were able to be in on all of the action and loved the sounds of the ocean at night. We all managed to stay healthy too.

We went to a couple of restaurants--we found the Manzanillo Bay Inn and the Italian restaurant in Troncones a little pricey but with good food. We also had lunch a couple of different places along the beach which were very good.

We had a fabulous time.. and will definitely be going back. In fact, our family is considering taking a trip back in in March. As I was saying we had a great time. The staff was wonderful and patient with our rusty and limited Spanish. The food was incredible! The architecture and layout of the place is so beautiful and harmonizing that we couldn't help but completely relax. And the location is great in that you can walk to Manzanillo Bay for snorkeling, surfing Troncones point or getting a bite to eat. We also went out on a boat a couple of times as well.. that was one of my favorite things! We had such a great time we were sad to leave.

Our stay at Casa Viva during the Christmas holidays was truly memorable - peaceful, relaxing and deeply nourishing to the soul. Family members and friends had time to be together and connect with each other in a beautiful environment. And ah, the sunsets.....

To say that we had a kick-ass time at Casa Viva would be a massive understatement. We love the property, the staff (our breakfasts managed to keep a couple of avid surfers out of the best waves of the day!), Gustavo and Karina, the design, the artfulness, the ecological sensitivities, the way your feet feel the warmth of the water 10 paces shy of the water’s edge and on and on and on...

Our family stayed in a fantastic house on the west coast of Mexico - Casa Viva in Troncones - just north of Zihatanejo and Ixtapa. Troncones is a big surfers hangout. While you can't surf right in front of the house, my kids just picked up their boards and took them down the road about ten minutes to Manzanillo Bay, which for the non-surfers has a great little, somewhat chic, beach hotel with a good restaurant. Always handy. We also went with a surfing guide to another beach about 30 minutes away by car, and I believe there are lots of those.

It's hard to describe this wonderful house and pictures don't really do it justice. At one point we had 14 people staying there of all ages and sizes, very easily. There are basically two master bedrooms and another casita with full bedroom, a sleeping loft over the main area that held all our teenage boys. And then every casita has alcoves with extra beds.

An amazing breakfast is included and we loved the Mexican dinners so much that we paid (very little comparatively) to have the staff cook for us as much as we thought we could ask them to stick around.

I am completely in love with Troncones and Casa Viva! I'll never go back to Ixtapa again!

We went up to Saladita and caught some waves, rode horses one morning and ate at Burro Boracho every evening. Gustavo and Karina are so warm and welcoming and I'm so impressed with what all of you have created down there. I didn't want to leave!

We felt completely away from the world at Casa Viva, in our own little paradise. It was unlike anywhere we have ever stayed. Photographs cannot do it justice. With out a doubt Casa Viva is the most beautiful place we have ever visited. It was wonderful. We can't wait to return!

For anyone looking for true relaxation Casa Viva is the place. Time goes by so slowly that a four day vacation felt like seven. The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

A great place to relax, rejuvenate, and reenergize, Casa Viva was heavenly. The staff was available but not intrusive. The food was delicious and varied.

Between horseback riding, body surfing, kayaking, you can do as much or as little as you wish...we chose the latter and spent our days reading by the pool overlooking the ocean.

Waking in the morning to the gentle sounds of the surf was a great way to start every day.

It was fantastic!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Viva. The trip was very relaxing. The setup with 4 separate buildings gave us space and privacy even on a family vacation. The newly designed pool was great for a family with young children. The 2 year old would crawl around on the ledge and pretend he was diving in while the 4 year old would jump off the ledge into the pool with her waterwings.

We really enjoyed Gustavo and his wife. He even took my son in law Mitch on a kayak trip up a favorite waterway of his. The staff was very supportive and the 4 nights that we ate at the house was a pleasant eating experience. I bought all the lobsters in the fishing village next door one day and the ladies did a wonderful job of preparing them.

We have been fortunate to stay at some pretty special places. However, none compares to Casa Viva. To be surrounded by the sight and sound of the ocean in a private casita designed of the finest of natural woods and stone is a real treat.

There is not a detail which has been overlooked in the creation of these special oceanfront palapas. The water is never less than 87 degrees and the sun always shines. Leisurely long walks on the beach can add to your collection of driftwood and lovely stones while it is rare to find another soul sharing your private moment. And when you do, everyone seems to be infected with the same quiet glow that you feel.

Restaurants are plentiful and if you desire a little more excitement Zihuatanejo and or Ixtapa is just a half hour away. In addition, those massages on the beach or in your private palapa are terrific and quite reasonably priced.

However if you like crowds, noise and a Miami Beach kind of environment this is not for you. If not, come to paradise and enjoy!!

"...At the other end of the accommodation spectrum, we discovered paradise at Casa Viva. Located around 5 minutes walk from Manzanillo Bay heading back towards Troncones. Casa Viva (House Alive) is constructed with an ecological theme in mind. It is made largely out of natural materials (such as fallen timbers) and sports environmental features such as grey water recycling, solar hot water, solar electricity and rain water collection.

The common area is quite magnificent, sporting rounded surfaces, adobe walls, a delightful kitchen and dining area overlooking the ocean and a tastefully incorporated swimming pool. Accommodation is in the form of fully appointed individual huts which have to be seen to be fully appreciated."
