Casa Viva is about a 25-minute walk from the village of Troncones and a 10-minute bike ride. In the morning, the pelicans pass by like pilots on a bombing run, looking for lunch. You know it's afternoon when you see them flying back in formation. The photograph to the left is of a guest of Casa Viva surfing right out in front of Casa Viva. There is great swimming, not only in the
pool, but also in Manzanillo Bay, which is about a 25 minute walk, 10 minute
bike ride, or 5 minute car ride. Manzanillo Bay is the place for surfing,
boogie boarding and body surfing. There are a few rocks, but the surf is
great and the point has a perpetual break. Closer to home, there are plenty
of small tide pools along the beach; you don't have to snorkel to see a
vibrant and diverse biosphere of aquatic life.
Jaguar Tours, which you will see to your left as you drive to Casa Viva along the beach, has lots of equipment and plans various tours. Rent some bikes or surfboards, plan a caving expedition, or more. They can be reached by phone, check the local (English and Spanish) directory in the house for their number.
The Ixtapa Aqua Paradise NAUI Scuba Center pro facility can arrange scuba
trips. Contact Miguel or Cheyenne. For larger groups they can arrange a pick
up almost in front of Casa Viva.
